DLA Piper joined the Hedera Governing Council on February 20th, 2019. We were among the first group of members, alongside Deutsche Telekom, Swisscom Blockchain, Nomura, and Magazine Luiza. I'll be sharing our story of joining, describing our risk assessment, and explaining applications we're looking to build on Hedera.

We received feedback from the Hedera community about early access functionalities and communications for network upgrades. We’re excited to share how we're addressing that feedback while also discussing the state of Hedera’s mainnet nodes, including the addition of IP proxies and TLS support for security and privacy.

Today we kicked off Hedera20, our first fully virtual hackathon. Throughout the 6 week challenge, teams of up to 5 have the opportunity to build on the new Hedera Consensus Service (HCS), which brings a decentralized publish-subscribe architecture to any application. We couldn’t be more excited to see what gets developed, and we’re thrilled to provide a few new developer tools that can help you build with HCS during and beyond the hackathon.

Hedera is pleased to announce the early availability of beta tools that Hedera developers can use to manage the lifecycle of Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs) and Verifiable Credentials via the Hedera Consensus Service. We welcome feedback from the community on these tools.

Dallas, TX and Sioux Falls, SD — April 28th, 2020 — Hedera Hashgraph, the enterprise-grade distributed public ledger, and Kingdom Trust, a leading qualified custodian holding cryptocurrency investments, today announced that Kingdom Trust has added Hedera’s hbars (HBAR) to its list of acceptable digital currency investments.

Hedera Hashgraph is a public ledger. Nodes on the network collectively establish and maintain a consensus state for a set of application data. Clients interact with that state through API calls sent to the nodes of the network.

A lot has changed since Hedera18: The Hedera mainnet is live; thousands of people have joined the ecosystem; and over a million transactions have been processed. Development resources are also above and beyond what they were in 2018. Now, we’re preparing for Hedera20 using what we’ve learned to put together a guide for making the most of this virtual hackathon.

Dallas, TX — April 22nd, 2020 — The Coupon Bureau (TCB), a non-profit, industry managed coupon data exchange technology platform that works with many of the largest consumer product goods (CPG) manufacturers and others in the retail ecosystem, announced today that it is using the Hedera Consensus Service (HCS) from Hedera Hashgraph to provide a real-time, tamper-proof log for all coupon events on its platform.

Hedera Consensus Service plug-ins provide a decentralized ordering service for Hyperledger Fabric or notary in Corda networks. And we’re thrilled to have the Hyperledger Fabric plug-in as a Hyperledger Lab. The open source code for both plug-ins is available as a developer preview today.
