Board reelects Brett McDowell to a second two-year term as Chair and launches search for new president

The Hedera Governing Council today announced its decision to separate the roles of Chair and President. Brett McDowell, who currently serves in both roles, has been re-elected as Chair for an additional two-year term.

As part of this process, the Board has created an executive search committee to lead the process of appointing the next president of Hedera Hashgraph, LLC. The Board is looking for a candidate who meets or exceeds the newly published criteria https://hedera.com/future to advance Hedera operations and lead the execution of policies, procedures, and strategic initiatives established by the members.

"The separation of these roles will help us to better support the growing Hedera ecosystem and enable us to decentralize the network and council functions even further," said Monique Morrow, member of the board of directors of the Hedera Governing Council. "We are excited to begin our search for a new president and look forward to finding a candidate who can help us achieve our vision to be the most used distributed ledger in the world."
