This is Mance Harmon, Co-Founder and CEO of Hedera Hashgraph, coming to you with another exciting update.
I have great news to share.
During the last month, we reached a couple of major milestones: first, we concluded fundraising, having raised a total of $120 million dollars, and second, we launched our mainnet and generated the Hbar tokens.
We also have spoken with hundreds of members of our community and the message has been loud and clear:
- Developers, you want more access to the platform to start building apps
- International community, you want more Hedera technical resources and local events
- Users and Hedera fans, you’d like more opportunities to earn tokens and to help us improve the platform
You spoke, we listened, and we are making some changes, starting with Hedera18, our first hashgraph developer conference. We want to make it more accessible to more of you in the community.
Hedera18 will now consist of a one-day, deep dive into all things Hedera here in Dallas on October 17th.
My Co-Founder, Leemon Baird, will be there to provide an in-depth discussion on Hedera cryptoeconomics. And other sessions will cover the basics of getting started with the Hedera API… And community partners and developers will be speaking about their experience with building dapps on the platform. We’re also offering detailed sessions on how Smart Contracts, Cryptocurrency, and File Storage will work on the Hedera network.
And there’s more; we don’t want anyone to miss out on the opportunity to participate.
As a result, we’ve reduced the price of the conference to just $200. Plus attendees will earn Hbar tokens to add to your Hedera account.
Also, we added a networking session where startups and developers will have an opportunity to participate in a”‘lightning round” of pitches to a select group of our investors.
For those of you who really can’t make it to Dallas, we’ll come to you with a FREE global livestream for the conference.
Due to overwhelming demand, we’re also expanding our first Global Decentralized Hashgraph Hackathon by adding an additional 4 cities. This brings the total to 9 cities.
In addition to Dallas, London, São Paulo, Singapore, and Tel Aviv, we will host hackathons in San Francisco, Paris, Bangalore, and Moscow. Prizes will be awarded for both local and global winners. We can’t wait to see what you build.
