After 6 weeks of hacking, the Hedera22 - Hello Smart Contract hackathon has come to an end. Over 2500 participants across 95 countries submitted 118 incredible, diverse projects, built utilizing the new Hedera Smart Contract Service.
Let’s take a look at the winning projects, starting with the overall winners, and then diving into the specific challenge winners.
1st Place (Prize: $150,000 USD worth of HBAR): Deal Designer powered by HumanKind - A low-cost, easy-to-use platform for creating highly-customizable product offers that incentivize sharing and give back to the community with HumanKind's transparent, decentralized charitable match.
2nd Place (Prize: $100,000 USD worth of HBAR): UniFi Ricardian Contracts - UniFi creates human and machine readable legal contracts through a flexible and versatile parameter extraction engine, with the security & convenience of self-execution on Hedera.
3rd Place (Prize: $50,000 USD worth of HBAR): Flexible NFT Royalty Distribution - Providing a more flexible rate based NFT Royalty Distribution process for stakeholders based on Smart Legal Contracts to assign distribution proportions based on the transfer value of the token.
In addition to the overall hackathon prizes, entries were eligible for awards in 16 different challenge categories, focused on the Metaverse, DeFi, payments, privacy, social good, Women in Web3, and more. The winners are as follows:

The system should be an NPM library and allow for public and private information to be stored about an account and allow users to modify, delete and change the visibility of their data. VideoFS
Build a robust client-side, browser extension that enables the creation of decentralized applications on Hedera. This extension should have similar access control isolation as Metamask and fill the need for injection functionality similar to popular wallets such as Klaytn's Kaist and Parity's Polkadot.js. Prizes: $5,000 USD worth of HBAR, and an interview with hashport for joining the team and/or incubation opportunities
Keyring Controller for Hedera Hashgraph - A module for managing groups of Hedera Hashgraph accounts called "Keyrings" adapted from MetaMask's Keyring Controller
Launch a DeFi protocol that uses the Hedera Token Service to interact with fungible and non-fungible tokens. For instance, to enable holders to use NFTs as collateral or lend a gaming NFT over a period of time. The HBAR Foundation recognizes that women are an underserved, underrepresented group across technology and wants to take steps to make sure that they are providing opportunities for everyone to contribute. They will reward the best project with a team comprised of at least 50% women. Prize:$15,000 USD worth of HBAR
