New Hedera mainnet node: Chainlink Labs

Hedera
Hedera provides secure, scalable infrastructure for real-world decentralized applications in finance, AI, and sustainability, governed by global enterprises.

An essential aspect of Hedera’s path towards full decentralization is network expansion through the establishment and management of new network nodes on the Hedera network. While these nodes are currently run solely by Hedera Governing Council members, the plan is to eventually allow anyone to manage a mainnet node who wants to earn hbars for contributing towards Hedera network consensus.

Hedera Hashgraph, LLC is excited to announce that the mainnet has expanded from 20 to 21 nodes, with the inclusion of Chainlink Labs.

It’s essential to the Hedera network that expansion continues in order to ensure mainnet reliability and decentralization with minimal impact on performance. Additional nodes on Hedera’s mainnet mean more redundancy if any nodes go offline or experience performance degradation due to on-premises data center or cloud provider issues.

Chainlink Labs | Lansing, Michigan | New Node

The Chainlink Labs transitional node on the Hedera mainnet is node 20 and account ID 0.0.23 — this node will be hosted in a LiquidWeb data center located in Lansing, Michigan, USA. Hedera will assist in managing this node as the new Hedera Council member is onboarded.

Chainlink Labs is the leading provider of secure blockchain middleware for enabling enterprise users to leverage smart contracts. The Chainlink network will be the preferred oracle solution for the Hedera network and Chainlink Labs will collaborate to provide Chainlink integration with the Hedera Token Service (HTS).

Watch Mance Harmon, CEO and Co-Founder of Hedera Hashgraph, and David Post, Managing Director of Business Development and Strategy for Chainlink Labs, discuss Chainlink Labs decision for joining the Hedera Governing Council and a quick dive into future collaborative initiatives in the video below.
