Join the Hedera22 Hackathon: Hello Smart Contracts

Smart contracts open a world of possibilities to create decentralized applications that reduce our reliance on intermediaries and change industries. With over $400,000 in prizes across 16 challenges, we’re eager to announce our Hedera22 Hackathon: Hello Smart Contracts.

With support from The HBAR Foundation, Avery Dennison, BCW, Buidler Labs, Calaxy, Circle, Filecoin, Google, GSR, HashPack, hashport, HeadStarter, LSE, LG Electronics, Toko by DLA Piper, and UCL, Hedera22 Hackathon is your chance to compete for over $400,000 in prizes and try out the new Hedera Smart Contract Service which features:

  • EVM compatible, Solidity support

  • 15 million gas / second with finality in seconds

  • Carbon negative transactions

  • Support for Hedera Token Service tokens and NFTs

For those just getting started with smart contracts or Hedera, the 6-week hack provides ample opportunities, workshops, and support to help get you up to speed. If you can’t wait to get started try out the tutorial deploying my first smart contract on Hedera.

Challenges & Prizes

Now, to the good stuff. Starting March 31st, teams of up to five will compete across 15 challenges with rewards in hbars and USD.

With an emphasis on Solidity smart contracts and their ecosystem, challenges are available for:

  • Global winners. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place overall winners will take home their portion in grand prizes totaling $300,000.

  • DeFi protocols. Build your own DeFi lego or lending protocol.

  • Ecosystem tooling. Support transaction signing, deployment, and community building.
