The Hello Future Origins Hackathon has come to a close! Between July 21st and August 8th, 2025, hackers from all around the world participated in this event to build their projects on Hedera. With expert mentorship, familiar developer tools, and a vibrant global community, the Origins hackathon set the stage for hackers to bring their vision to reality and compete for $150,000 in prizes. Builders developed new solutions in the areas of AI & Agents, DeFi & Tokenization, and Sustainability. With the Legacy Builders track, participants also had the opportunity to continue refining and optimizing their existing builds from previous Hedera hackathons.
Here are the results by track. The winning teams took home a total prize pool worth $150,000 USD!
AI & Agents
1st Place: Major Gainz – AI DeFi agent
Prize: $15,000
An AI-powered DeFi copilot that transforms on-chain wallet data into clear insights and recommendations across trading, staking, yield, and risk. With its roadmap of advanced tools and automation, it aims to close the DeFi intelligence gap for retail users.

Prize: $10,000
An AI agent built for the Hedera DeFi ecosystem, guiding novice users to optimize investments through SaucerSwap, Bonzo Finance, and AutoSwapLimit strategies. It delivers real-time analysis, automated execution, and an educational layer with tutorials and contextual insights, empowering users to grow into confident DeFi investors.

Aegis Protocol delivers a trust and asset management layer for the digital asset economy, tackling fears of loss, governance gaps, and scams. Hedgera is a Hedera-native platform for creating and trading on-chain token indexes. Backed 1:1 by Hedera tokens, it lets users mint with USDC-H, redeem assets, and track performance, while curators can launch custom indexes and earn fees.

1st Place – GreenTrace – Verifiable Carbon Management Platform
Prize: $15,000
GreenTrace is a Hedera-powered platform for tracking and verifying greenhouse gas emissions. With NFT-based certificates, a carbon offset marketplace, and GRI-compliant reporting tools, it brings transparency, trust, and sustainability to carbon management.

An AI-powered biometric payment platform on Hedera, letting users pay with their face. Its AI handles bill splitting, recurring payouts, and optimal routing—removing friction and seed phrases for intuitive, secure transactions.

Novalax is a payment gateway and platform for onchain payments of USDC directly on Hedera EVM Network. Novalax has been powered by x402 protocol, which enables seamless, secure, and automated payments for data and digital services.

This project automates DAO voting and treasury rebalancing for the Lynx tokenized index. Using LangChain, OpenAI, and Hedera-agent-kit, AI agents coordinate the full flow via HCS—from votes to updated minting contracts and treasury adjustments.

Developer Experience Track & Side Quest Winners
The Hello Future Origins Hackathon had a bonus track for builders to submit entries that help improve the developer experience on Hedera, along with fun side quests. These additions provided builders with opportunities for learning, networking, and engaging with the ecosystem, all while competing for the chance to win smaller prizes.
The winners for the bonus Developer Experience track and side quests will be announced via the Hedera Discord.
