Revolutionizing logistics and commerce with web3 innovation
Kwikpik is tackling major pain points in last-mile logistics—from unreliable delivery networks to high operational costs and limited access in underserved regions. Built on Hedera, the platform brings transparency, real-time traceability, and inclusive service capabilities to an industry long plagued by opaque transactions and frequent package failures.
Last-mile logistics is plagued by fragmentation, leading to package losses, high costs, and poor service – especially in under-connected regions such as the Middle East and Africa. In addition, the lack of traceability and disconnected transactions further erode trust and limit access, making the system inefficient and exclusionary.
Solution
By using the Hedera network, Kwikpik is rebuilding last-mile delivery through DLT-verified transparency and accessibility, which addresses traceability failures, transaction opacity, and exclusion of underserved consumers.
Powered by Hedera, the Kwikpik platform ensures immutable package delivery tracking to eliminate package losses, transparent payments to build trust, and predictable costs that let us scale affordably across our markets. Most importantly, it proves decentralized tech can solve real human problems beyond finance.

Revolutionising logistics and commerce with web3 innovation
The company was founded to address the severe inefficiencies in last-mile logistics affecting Nigeria and similar markets worldwide. Despite high demand and widespread smartphone adoption, delivery networks were fragmented, costly, and left many suburban communities without access to basic services like food and medicine. Founder Obasi Francis, inspired by blockchain’s potential beyond finance, saw logistics as an overlooked sector where distributed ledgers could create real impact.
Launched in 2022 with co-founders Philip Akhilome (CTO) and Paul Ifegwu (COO), Kwikpik set out to unify independent riders and merchants using Hedera as its trust layer. By 2023, its beta went live in Benin City, offering transparent package tracking, accessible delivery services, and built-in carbon measurement—ensuring every delivery generated verifiable environmental data. Kwikpik adopted a lightweight 3PL model to avoid the asset-heavy pitfalls of traditional logistics and focused on delivering real utility, not financial speculation.
Kwikpik’s benefits and features
Kwikpik combines logistics, fintech, and sustainability into a Web3-powered service. Users access multi-currency wallets, bill payments, cross-border transactions, and virtual USD cards, while merchants tap into inventory tools and decentralized financing. Delivery offerings include groceries, pharmaceuticals, farm goods, and parcel services, all supported by partner riders instead of company-owned fleets.
Real-world successes and strategic growth
By mid-2025, Kwikpik had processed 400,000+ on-chain transactions and completed 32,000+ deliveries across Benin City, Lagos, and Abuja, generating over $2M in delivery value. Its ecosystem now includes 550 riders, 16,000 users, and 120 merchants, supported by dedicated apps for users, riders, merchants, and businesses. The company emphasizes inclusion by onboarding women-led businesses and youth entrepreneurs, providing micro-financing, training, and digital job pathways.
The company’s expansion in Lagos increased delivery volume by 7,600+ orders, while its bill-payment service has processed 950+ transactions. With backing from the Gates Foundation, Edo State Government, and CcHub, Kwikpik is proving that blockchain-driven logistics can modernize commerce, cut costs, and provide ESG-grade data in underserved regions.
Why Hedera
Hedera Consensus Service gives Kwikpik a scalable, low-cost way to immutably log deliveries and carbon emissions—crucial for supply-chain transparency. Hedera Token Service enables tokenized payouts and auditable financial flows. Hedera’s predictable fees, sustainability profile, and congestion resistance allow Kwikpik to grow efficiently while supporting its carbon-tracking mission. By recording emissions data per delivery type on-chain, Kwikpik provides actionable insights that encourage greener transport choices and inform climate initiatives across Nigeria.
