Shyam is already deeply familiar with Hedera and the ecosystem, having previously served as a member of Hedera’s Board of Directors. He currently chairs Hedera’s Technology Committee, where his insights and leadership have helped shape the strategic direction of the network.

Shyam’s career includes key leadership roles at IBM, where he led responsible AI and blockchain initiatives, driving triple-digit growth and helping position IBM as a leader in enterprise blockchain services. His ability to scale complex technologies and deliver results for Fortune 500 companies speaks to his deep expertise in both business and technology strategy.
Notably, Shyam played a pivotal role in developing IBM’s COVID pass solutions, which was adopted by NYC and reached over 12 million users, and led the growth of IBM’s Blockchain and Digital Assets business, generating significant revenue. His ability to bridge technology with business outcomes has made him a sought-after leader in the fields of AI, blockchain, and data-driven transformation.

Specifically, he will focus on Hedera’s operational resilience, driving innovation through its open source community, and supporting enterprise use of the Hedera network.
