Announcing the 2021 Hedera MVPs

Hedera
Hedera provides secure, scalable infrastructure for real-world decentralized applications in finance, AI, and sustainability, governed by global enterprises.

A Hedera MVP works hard to grow, foster, and educate the Hedera Hashgraph community. These individuals go above and beyond as volunteers in that capacity. Whether it is talking about the Hedera network with their friends and colleagues, contributing to open source projects, or launching a decentralized application on the Hedera network, these talented and inspiring individuals are key to moving the Hedera community forward.

What does it take to become an MVP?

The work

MVPs are key enablers for those new to the Hedera network or seasoned veterans. They have demonstrated their ability to provide relevant insights into the fast-moving world of distributed ledger technology (DLT). Whether training new developers, speaking at conferences and meetups, or writing blog posts – helping educate others and encourage their success is key to a Hedera MVP.

The motivation

Ask most MVPs about why they do what they do, and you’re likely to get a consistent response. They love the technology, being a part of the Hedera community, and are excited for its potential impact. While these are all great and altruistic behaviors there are other benefits of being an MVP, too:

  • Recognition as a leader in the Hedera and DLT community.

  • Opportunities to engage with industry leaders, write articles and speak at key events.

  • Direct & unique support from the Hedera team.

  • Private meetings, chats, and interactions between other MVPs.

  • Bragging rights to your friends, and other DLT engineers!

  • Official Hedera MVP swag.

The process

Since the community’s first set of MVPs in 2018, the process for electing MVPs was handled by Hedera’s Community Team. We analyzed the members in the community and worked together as a team to put together a list of individuals who went above and beyond to help educate and grow the Hedera community during that past year. This year we elected for a new process to select the MVPs for 2021. For the first time, the active MVPs from 2020 were able to choose the new roster of MVPs for 2021. Collectively, they’ve selected 11 first time MVPs and brought back 15 in acknowledgement of their continued support. I’m excited to share the results of this process, and welcome our new 2021 MVPs.

Meet the 2021 Hedera MVPs.
